MITCHEL MONTAGNA
Sunrise

I dreamed of shadows along the shore
and fog so gray the fields are gone.
Sprung from a mist the dark birds soar
beyond the glowing rim of dawn.

Each star felt like a piercing light
then sunrise cloaked our epic view.
It streamed its own heat through the night
where waters flashed its golden hue.

I saw a hot mist in her eyes
fixed sweetly on the glittered bay.
Near shore we heard these rumbling skies
still dazzled from the break of day.
